Points for each place
How many places score depends on how many teams are in the meet. In the first six rows the individual points are the NFHS defaults by number of teams and the relay points are the ones league handbooks use with them; the last three are championship tables. If your league uses something else, pick Custom points and type your own tables for individual events and relays.

Ties, relays and runners who don't score
When athletes tie, the points for the places they cover are added and shared. Two athletes tied for 2nd in a dual meet cover 2nd and 3rd, so each scores (3 + 1) ÷ 2 = 2 points. Press Tie on the lower of the two places. In field events most ties are broken first, by the next-best mark or by fewer misses (NFHS Rule 6-3), and only a tie that still stands shares points. Texas UIL meets break ties instead, so enter the order after the tie-break.
Only one relay per school scores. If a school's second relay finishes ahead of another team, it is skipped and the next team moves up. Mark exhibition athletes as Not scored and everyone behind them moves up a place.
Questions coaches ask
How do you score a high school track meet?
Each event gives points to the top places and you add them up per team. A dual meet scores 5-3-1 and the relay winner gets 5. Meets with more teams score more places, like 6-4-3-2-1 for four teams. Girls and boys get separate team scores.
How many points is a relay worth in a dual meet?
In the usual dual table the winning relay gets 5 points and the other team gets 0, written 5-0. Only one relay per school can score, so a team's second relay never takes points.
How are ties scored in track?
The rule is to add the points for the tied places and divide by the number of athletes tied. Three athletes tied for 1st in a quad meet share 6 + 4 + 3 = 13 points, so each gets 4⅓.
Are boys and girls scored separately?
Yes, girls and boys each get a team score. Some meets also add the two for a combined result, so the scorer shows girls, boys and combined.
Can I print a blank track meet score sheet?
Yes. Set your teams and events, then press Print score sheet before entering any places. You get a sheet with a row for every event and a column for each team to fill in by hand.
Does it work without signal at the track?
Yes. Open the page once with signal and your phone keeps a copy that opens with no signal at all. Every place you enter is saved on your phone straight away, so a reload or a closed tab picks up where you left off. Save a backup file after the meet to keep a copy.
